SOCIETY/ Temporary placement assistance for displaced Ukrainian geoscience employees

The Geological Society has been contacted regarding temporary placement assistance into interested UK companies, for example in the form of secondment, for displaced Ukrainian female geoscience employees of Nafotgaz (the national company) who have 2-15 years’ experience (male employees are not able to leave Ukraine at this time). Ideally, this might be with oil and gas companies, but could equally be any subsurface application.

If you are able to offer such temporary placement opportunities and are potentially willing to act as their UK Visa Sponsor please contact Graham Tiley ([email protected]).

OTHER/ European Federation of Geologists Employment Survey

The European Federation of Geologists is conducting a short survey, aimed at taking a snapshot of the current labour market for geologists in Europe and beyond.

The results of the survey will be used to produce a comprehensive report on the evolution of the profession, providing clear overview of work opportunities in Europe, helping (future) geoscientists to orientate their studies or career decisions and providing professional associations with a steer on which services to offer to their members.

The survey is available here and will take approximately 10 minutes
